Most PT places don't even ask about nutrition, much less how you fuel around your training. Nobody is asking if you're getting enough food, enough electrolytes, or enough sleep. The recovery process has a limiting governor. The governor is inflammation and it is directly affected by these factors.

How many times have you yourself or someone you know experienced this: You have knee pain so you tell your PCP and then you get referred to an orthopedic who specializes in the knee. They zoom in on the knee and give you some kind of diagnosis without looking at much of anything else. Then you go to PT with an order for knee pain and the PT only treats your knee. 6 weeks go by and your knee is not much better. So you think PT didn't help. It wasn't PT that failed you, it was likely just bad PT.
